The Hunter Valley
The Hunter Valley is home to spectacular food and wine as well as an amazing variety of fun and exciting experiences to partake in!
First planted in the 1820s, The Hunter Valley boasts the oldest wine region in Australia.
Today, there are over 150 cellar doors from larger commercial wineries to small family owned small boutique delights. Some of which are located in beautiful locations, hidden and accessible by unsealed roads.
The Hunter Valley also boasts stunning views, rolling hills and amazing sunsets over the picturesque Broken View Ridge.
The two champion wine varieties are Shiraz and Semillon. There is also excellent Chardonnay and Verdhelo and a thriving host of European varieties.
The Hunter Valley is bursting with restaurants serving delicious local produce paired with the regions’s best wines. Ranging from high end chef hatted dining to cafes to bistros to platters of local produce, there is an abundance of choice to suit all budgets.
Some of the best cheese makers and chocolatiers in Australia can also be found here.
Apart from fine wines, gourmet delights and stunning vineyards there is so much more to explore, from watching the sunrise in a hot-air balloon high above the vineyards, touring the famous Hunter Valley Gardens, a relaxing round of golf, being pampered in a local spa, and so much more.
