Mudgee Tours

More than just stunning and award winning wineries and dining, its an experience of unmatched quality and classic country charm.

The Mudgee Region

The Mudgee Region is located about 3 1/2 hours north west from Sydney.  A lovely scenic drive through the beautiful, picturesque Blue Mountains and the tips of the Capertee Valley (one of the widest canyons in the world).

Mudgee town is a beautiful and elegant town and has a rich pastoral history and colonial gold rush reflected in stylish heritage buildings and tree lined streetscapes.  The first vineyards were planted here in the 1850’s which makes it one of the oldest wine making regions in Australia.

This gem of a town sits on the banks of the fertile Cudgegong River surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills and farmland, and is home to over 40 stunning and award-winning wineries.

Known for varietals such as Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Riesling and a lovely buttery Chardonnay.  There are many other varietals that have been planted in more recent years, and you will be impressed with the wines produced here by the small family owned and operated cellar doors.

In addition to stunning and awarding winning wineries, Mudgee has an excellent range of dining options to suit all budgets.  From cafes and pubs to high-end, top rated restaurants like Pipeclay Pumphouse and Zin House.  Some of the wineries also offer wonderful grazing platters of local produce.

There is also an amazing distillery and breweries, a terrific wine bar and the the wonderful “High Valley” Cheese Shop.  For some of the best burgers anywhere, 53 Food Co (at Huntington Estate on weekends) is the place to go.  And, for a small town, Mudgee has many excellent pubs!

There are plenty of other things to do in this beautiful and iconic region which has some really pretty little villages and towns such as Kandos, Rylestone and Gulgong.  All in gorgeous locations and with significant heritage architecture and quirky small shops and cafes.

For the more adventurous, there is kayaking at Dunns Swamp on the edge of beautiful Wollemi National Park or watching a sunrise above the vineyards in a hot-air balloon.

The Mudgee Observatory is the place to be for star gazing.  And there is so much more to see which is why Mudgee is one of the leading getaway destinations in Australia.

We also offer pick ups from Gulgong, Kandos and Rylestone with a small add on fee.
