Grape Getaways is a five star rated business and my tour packages are the most competitively priced across both regions.
We only suggest and recommended cellar doors where the owners are passionate not only when it comes to wine making but passionate when it comes to providing guests with the best tasting experiences and ambience.
Wine tastings fees are charged at most cellar doors. Standard tasting fees start at $5.00 per guest and up to $40.00 depending on the cellar door and level of wine tasting experiences. Wine tasting fees are not included in our tour packages due to the variability in tasting fee prices charged.
We can also suggest the very best food venues to suit each budget. The Hunter Valley and Mudgee Regions offer everything from the finest dining to platters of local produce and bistro style offerings. Both regions are renowned foodie paradises.

The invention of the Cork
Starting in 1688, Pierre Perignon used corks held in place with wire to seal bottles of his latest creation, champagne.
Red Wine
Red wine is a type of wine made from dark-colored grape varieties. The actual color of the wine can range from intense violet, typical of young wines, through to brick red for mature wines and brown for older red wines. The juice from most purple grapes is greenish-white, the red color coming from anthocyan pigments (also called anthocyanins) present in the skin of the grape; exceptions are the relatively uncommon teinturier varieties, which produce a red-colored juice. Much of the red-wine production process therefore involves extraction of color and flavor components from the grape skin. Red wine is a delicacy around the world.
White Wine
White wine is a wine that is fermented without skin contact. The colour can be straw-yellow, yellow-green, or yellow-gold.[1] It is produced by the alcoholic fermentation of the non-coloured pulp of grapes, which may have a skin of any colour. White wine has existed for at least 4000 years.
